Many of 2014’s Idyllwild winners went on to big distribution deals and awards and at world renowned festivals world wide. Don’t miss Idyllwild 2015.

For the first time this year they have introduced a Timelapse Category and I was approached to enter two of my films. I chose ‘Moving Through New York’ as one of my entries as it showcases both conventional timelapse as well as hyperlapse & complex day to night hyperlapse HDR assembly which you will see and probably not notice in my move through the crowded Times Square at twilight.

What makes this particular shot difficult is the changing light conditions from beginning to end combined with the out of latitude exposure difference between the video screens and the crowd. This necessitated taking four shots at each position and merging the layers manually in After Effects.
